The Role :

The Claims Examiner adjudicates assigned claims within given authority and provides operational support to the claims team, This person will also :

  • Adjusts and resolves lower complexity first and third party cyber, crime, technology and / or media claims
  • Accurately documents claim files with all relevant claim documentation, correspondence and notes in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory authorities
  • Drafts coverage letters, including reservation of rights and denial letters
  • Reviews and analyzes claim documentation and legal filings to set timely and accurate reserves within given authority and notify the manager if upward segmentation is needed
  • Identifies emerging exposure
  • Identifies suspected fraudulent claims and tracks with special investigations unit
  • Engages and manages outside vendors pursuant to company policy
  • Other tasks or projects to be assigned as needed, such as overseeing / managing subrogation claims to increase recoveries to Hiscox, monitoring excess third party files, responding to Underwriting requests on renewals, etc.

Requirements :

3+ years of claims handling experience. A JD from an ABA accredited law school may be considered as a supplement to claims handling experience In depth knowledge of claims analysis and adjusting practices Intermediate knowledge of standards for claims documentation and legal filings Proven ability to actively and effectively negotiate settlement of claims Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated analytical skills Active insurance adjuster’s license B.

A. / B.S degree from an accredited College or University preferred

Salary Overview

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00
