Job Purpose

We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hardware Technician to join our mining technology industry team. As a Hardware Technician, you will be responsible for assembling & testing various hardware components and systems, including creating test reports, procedures, and guidelines for the Product Compliance Department.

In this role, you will work closely with our engineering, operations, and external test laboratories to ensure that we get proper regulatory certification of our hardware products.

You will be involved in the entire hardware lifecycle, from development to release. This position requires a hands-on approach, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all applicable tests on hardware components and systems for product compliance activities (including released and in-development hardware).
  • Create & maintain test reports, procedures, and guidelines for external test laboratories.
  • Provide technical support to regions and external test laboratories.
  • Maintain an inventory record of Product Compliance test units used during development and reuse them during certification renewal.

Keep the record until the hardware end of life.

  • Responsible for performing installation and assisting external laboratories in product compliance testing at the Komatsu proving ground.
  • Work with the warehouse on shipping hardware components and / or kits to specific countries or external laboratories for Product compliance-related activities.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of proven experience working as a Hardware Technician or in a similar role.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits and hardware components.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the Komatsu Proving ground (in Tucson) and external laboratories within the USA to support product compliance testing.
  • Knowledge of electronics equipment installation practices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer programming practices preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to Ethical and legal Standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Travel up to 15%.
