FULL TIME OUTPATIENT LPN

Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital, newly constructed in 2018 - state of the art Inpatient facility conveniently located at 9938 Airline Highway and our new Outpatient facility located at 615 Chevelle Ct.

Job Responsibilities :

• Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for psychiatric patient population
• Assists physician during psychiatric assessments and mental status examinations
• May conduct individual and group psychotherapy sessions and Medication Education group sessions.
• Performs a variety of tasks related to the quality of treatment.
• Promotes and maintains patient health through teaching and appropriate rehabilitative measures under the guidance of the registered nurse or program director.
• Administers medication according to physician orders.
• Assists patients in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
• Helps to achieve and maintain continuity of patient care by assisting in planning and exchanging information with other health professionals.
• Keeps abreast of changes and trends affecting nursing care and licensed practical nurse functions.
• Attends patient care conferences, meets with performance improvement reviewer weekly and communicates regularly with the Program Director.
• Communicates current health status and needs of patients to appropriate health professionals.
• Stays abreast of Federal, State, and local laws and regulations complying with infection control and employee health standards
• Active participant in nursing performance improvement program
• Advises Program Director, Director of Nursing, or Administrator of any risk management activities in order to reduce or eliminate patient / staff / visitor injuries, illnesses, death, and / or financial loss.

Education / Experience / License required :

• License Practical Nurse. Psychiatric experience preferred
• CPR and CPI must be maintained
