ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Job Details :

13-week contract assignment with ASAP start date

36 guaranteed hours per week

12-hour day / night variable shifts

Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

Float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to critical higher acuity units

Call back permitted but not required with 1-hour response time

Work in 16-bed Medical-Surgical ICU unit

Primary patient ratio 2 : 1

Handle stroke care, cerebral monitoring and drains, ventilators, drips, chest tubes, spinal drains, JPs, and some CRRT patients

Manage Level 2 trauma cases including medical and surgical neuro, sepsis, respiratory failure, and alcohol detox

May encounter logging accidents, motorcycle accidents, and snowmobile accidents depending on season

Required certifications : Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS

CCRN certification preferred but not required

Minimum 2 years MedSurg and ICU experience required with strong neuro experience

EPIC charting experience preferred

Must be outside 50-mile radius of facility

Any color scrubs permitted

Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive 16-bed Medical-Surgical ICU that provides Level 2 trauma care and specialized neurological services. The unit maintains clinical leadership coverage seven days a week and utilizes a collaborative care model with RNs, CNAs, and LPNs working together to deliver high-quality patient care. The facility is equipped to handle complex cases including stroke care, respiratory failure, and various trauma situations, making it an excellent environment for critical care nurses to advance their skills.
