Entry Level Field Service Advisor

Your responsibilities

The Entry Level Field Service Advisor is responsible for inspecting the mechanical condition and alignment of rotary kilns and mills and providing maintenance and repair recommendations to our customers.

This position requires extensive travel to customer locations throughout the United States. Travel outside the United States including Canada, South America, and Caribbean Islands, may be required but is not routine.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Perform on-site measurements and inspections to evaluate rotary kiln and mill condition.
  • Consult with Engineering and / or Field Advisor Supervisor to analyze measurement data and inspection results.
  • Prepare written reports, for customer use, that detail measurement and inspection results and provide the basis for parts and service recommendations.
  • Meet with customer representatives, such as engineers or plant managers, to discuss equipment condition and measurement results.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • This is an advisory position with no direct subordinates.
  • Ensure that Company safety policies, including all procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to at all times.

Education & Experience :

Associates Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology or Industrial Technology;

one to three years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge & Skills :

  • This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data and drawings.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to respond quickly, decisively, and appropriately to equipment problems is very important.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment screening and an ongoing drug screening is required

Preferred Knowledge / Skills, Education and Experience :

  • Previous experience with rotating equipment (i.e. kilns, mills, etc.).
  • Experience in the paper, cement, mining, or mineral industries.
  • Surveying experience.
  • Experience with OSHA or MSHA regulations.
  • Ability to speak fluent Spanish is desirable.
  • Current valid passport.

Travel :

Up to 75% Travel. This position is based in Milwaukee, WI and requires extensive travel to customer locations throughout the United States.
