Asplundh Engineering Services has an immediate opening for an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to join our team in Louisiana.

This role is considered remote but must be located in Louisiana and / or have the ability to travel within Louisiana when needed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

  • Develop PLS-Cadd and PLS-Pole models for new and existing transmission line designs and analyses, PLS-Tower experience is not required but would be a plus
  • Attend and complete site visits for line inventory, hard spot identification, and construction coordination
  • Generate existing line studies, new project estimates, material and pole orders, construction bid specifications and drawings, and as-built closeout documents
  • Coordinate with construction, environmental, real estate, and permitting representatives as well as geotechnical engineering services;

foundation design experience would be a bonus

  • Meet with our clients and partners on a frequent basis to share and expand our relationships
  • Advise, review, and perform quality control on work performed by others
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals including cost estimates, description of project approach, and scheduling
  • Learn from and contribute to other Power Delivery groups including civil / structural, distribution, and substation

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Competency in the use of PLS software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a proven commitment to safety and customer service
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, have access to a car, and be comfortable entering transmission line ROWs and line construction sites with proper training and PPE
  • Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check and drug screen

Preferred Experience :

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Transmission Line Design
  • Proficiency with typical office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Windows, drafting software skills are an additional plus
  • Professional Engineering license or E.I.T. strongly preferred

Compensation : Hourly / Non-exempt; performance based bonus program
