- This setting provides a rich environment for anyone wanting to develop and build their clinical skill set. Medical Assistants in this setting experience the following : taking patient histories and physicals;
- post-operative management of patient’s surgical sites - removing operative dressings, removing sutures / staples and wound management;
assisting the surgeon with in-office surgeries; making casts and custom splints for patients; reviewing and prepping patient charts (EMR) for office visits.
- Previous experience check in patients
- Answers the telephone in a polite manner and communications information to appropriate personnel.
- Assists in transport of patients to and from the OR / PACU
- Previous experience as a unit secretary and medical assistant
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Complete other duties as assigned.
