A Brief Job Description :

Childcare providers are responsible for the direct supervision of children ages birth 18 years old enrolled in the CNGR program ensuring their physical safety at all times.

The provider must be able to balance safety consideration with the childs need to be active.

This is a relief position for shifts as needed.

The pay is $13.50 / hr for days and $14 / hr for overnights.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Recognize, document and take appropriate action in the case of suspected abuse, illness or accident
  • Maintain a clean, organized, appealing environment that promotes comfort and security
  • Maintain clean materials and equipment
  • Maintain constant surveillance of the surrounding outdoor environment
  • Ensure that each child receives nutritious meals, meeting their daily requirement
  • Maintain fair and orderly control, with constant supervision of children
  • Help children learn through setting limits
  • Work with other child care providers, volunteers and parents to best meet the needs of the children in our care
  • Be professional when consulting with parents, provider and family members maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Record timely, complete, legible documentation of childs observed behaviors
  • Represent the program in a positive and professional manner to all areas
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings
  • Be willing to participate in annual performance reviews
  • Other duties as assigned by the Crisis Nursery Director

  • Comply with NYS Child Care Provider and NY State OCFS regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of a high school diploma, at least 2 years of experience in paid or unpaid childrearing and be at least 18 years old.

In addition to the above, it is *mandatory* that *candidates meet the following criteria prior to hire :

  • Completion of State Central Registry Clearance form*
  • Authorization for agency to complete criminal background check
  • Authorization for the agency to obtain driving record information
  • Proof of a satisfactory physical exam within the last 12 months including a PPD and *annually* thereafter. (Applies to RHY staff *only*.)
  • Access to a telephone

Note : *It is also mandatory that new employees be cleared by the NYS Central Register prior to unsupervised* *interaction with clients.*

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be able to be autonomously mobile in order to provide the required services.
