Purpose
To provide leadership and oversight of Grossmont Gardens Memory Care, a vibrant and active 64-resident licensed community that consistently operates at full capacity with an active waiting list. The Administrator ensures that residents receive the highest standard of care and service in accordance with Title 22 RCFE regulations, the Grossmont Gardens Mission, and Meaningful Moments programming.
This role requires a balance of regulatory compliance, operational leadership, business office and HR knowledge, and cross-departmental collaboration. The Administrator works closely with a dedicated Admissions Team of three, supporting their efforts to sustain full occupancy and smooth move-in transitions, while partnering with the larger Grossmont Gardens campus for compliance, operations, and census management.
Pay : $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year + Expected Bonus of $20,000 - $40,000 / yea
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Genuine passion for working with seniors and individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
- Active California RCFE Administrator Certificate in good standing (required).
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a licensed RCFE or senior living environment (Memory Care experience preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of Title 22 RCFE regulations, dementia care practices, and survey preparedness.
- Strong financial acumen, including budget management, payroll review, and accounts receivable / payable oversight.
- Working knowledge of human resources functions such as hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Experience working with ALW, CHG, PACE, and Private Pay residents.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and senior living operational software (EHR, CRM, payroll, billing, etc.).
- Meets all state health, background, and fingerprint clearance requirements.

Oversee the daily operations of the 64-bed Memory Care community, ensuring full compliance with Title 22 RCFE regulations and company policies.Maintain readiness for DSS licensing inspections, audits, and fire marshal reviews.Conduct regular rounds to ensure a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and families.Oversee adherence to infection control, safety, and emergency preparedness policies.Support resident rights, grievance resolution, and family communication in a timely and compassionate manner.Financial and Business Office Management
Manage the community within approved budgetary guidelines, ensuring fiscal efficiency and accountability.Review and support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions.Monitor expenses, revenue, and occupancy trends and prepare accurate monthly reports.Partner with regional and corporate teams to ensure proper billing and documentation for ALW, CHG, and PACE programs.Identify and implement cost-effective practices that maintain quality of care and operational performance.Admissions and Census Support
Collaborate with and support the Admissions Team of three to ensure timely response to inquiries, smooth move-in coordination, and accurate completion of required documentation.Partner with the Admissions Team to evaluate potential residents for suitability and retention criteria per Title 22.Maintain awareness of occupancy trends, waiting lists, and referral pipelines.Support the community's goal of 100% occupancy through communication, coordination, and responsiveness to leads and referral sources.Assist with community tours, family meetings, and professional outreach as needed to sustain census strength.Human Resources and Staff Engagement
Partner with HR to support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect across departments.Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to management staff.Support compliance with company policies, employment laws, and Title 22 staffing requirements.Encourage professional growth, recognition, and staff engagement initiatives.Marketing, Partnerships, and External Relations
Build strong relationships with external partners including PACE programs, CHG case managers, ALW coordinators, hospitals, and referral networks.Represent Grossmont Gardens Memory Care at community events and professional meetings.Collaborate with marketing teams to highlight the community's excellence in dementia care and senior services.Promote the community's reputation as a premier provider of memory care in San Diego County.Family and Community Engagement
Serve as a visible and approachable leader for residents and families.Maintain ongoing communication with family members to address concerns and share updates.Facilitate care plan meetings and family education opportunities on dementia care and safety practices.Create an inclusive, compassionate environment that reinforces trust and transparency.Working Conditions
Full-time, on-site position with flexible scheduling to meet operational needs.On-call availability 24 / 7 for emergencies or urgent matters.Occasional travel required for regional meetings, training, or outreach.Physical / Sensory Requirements
