Take and record tuition payments by phone and in-person. Collect and prepare data for invoices to bill agency accounts. Reconcile multiple accounts.

Enter data for various payments and authorizations. Review and verify bookstore receipts. Access affiliate websites for researching student information.

Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, data entry, copying, purchase orders and filing.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS :

1. Position has a major impact on and ensures the financial integrity of MCC.

2. Provide quality customer service to students, outside agencies, and MCC staff in person, on the phone and with email.

3. Greet and assist students at the front counter area.

4. Provide detailed information about a student’s account to appropriate designees.

5. Take and record payments for tuition by phone and in-person.

6. Work with students and outside agencies solving payment issues.

7. Prepare and print student statements.

8. Access appropriate websites to review student information with MCC business partners i.e., BankMobile, NelNet, collection agencies, and AceWare.

9. Generate internal and external billing (including library fines, Ace Ware, and employee tuition waivers.)

10. Develop partnerships with agency contacts, which provides guaranteed income for MCC.

11. Process Bookstore receipts for agency billings.

12. Monitor aging balances for assigned accounts, contact past due accounts as needed.

13. Enter and apply data for various payments and authorizations. (i.e. : Trust Funds, Student Loans, U.S. Military, etc.)

14. Record account adjustments, returned checks, and other information on students’ accounts.

15. Work with multiple departments for the Susan Thompson Buffett scholarship program

16. Prepare correspondence to internal and external agencies as needed.

17. Assist with weekly refund process.

18. Monitor bankruptcy accounts and submit claim to U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

19. Credit card, check, and cash reconciliations.

20. Tools purchase order processing and reconciliation working with Financial Aid staff.

21. Document assigned processes as needed.

22. Maintain confidentiality at all times

23. Follow a detailed calendar of assignments and processes throughout each quarter.

24. Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, data entry, photocopying, and preparing purchase orders when needed.

25. Work as a team member assisting other Student Account co-workers as needed.

26. Consistently and dependably attend work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.

27. All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

1. Knowledge of accounting and billing procedures

2. Ability to process multiple step calculations.

3. Knowledge of Colleague accounting software.

4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Windows operating systems.

5. Knowledge of websites that are accessed for students BankMobile, PayPal, collection agencies, etc.

6. Requires high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

7. Planning and organizational skills.

8. Strong problem solving skills.

9. Skill in demonstrating a cooperative and professional demeanor.

10. Communication skills both written and verbal; and excellent spelling, grammar, and editing skills.

11. Ability to communicate in groups and one-on-one.

13. Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team- oriented environment.

14. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple accounts and tasks.

15. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
