Join Team CARFAX as a Government Relations Manager One last thing : Our four-day week continues in Summer 2024 The Government Relations Manager is responsible for developing and implementing state and local government initiatives supportive of CARFAX business and that may impact CARFAX products and services.

This person will also be responsible for state level account management and seeking out new public sector data acquisition opportunities as assigned. What you’ll be doing :

  • Assess, influence, create and / or resolve potential administrative, regulatory and / or legislative issues impacting areas of responsibility.
  • Enable market access for CARFAX products and services across US state and municipal jurisdictions and assist in negotiating key terms / contracts with state agencies in particular.
  • Stay abreast of state legislation and regulations that may impact access to and the use of vehicle data.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships across state and local government, with a focus on motor vehicle and public safety agencies as well as build coalitions to support objectives w / public, private and non-profit partners.
  • Maintain relationships with trade associations with similar and opposing interests .
  • Represent CARFAX, as needed, at various conferences and represent w / key associations.
  • Manage consultants and advocates where needed.
  • Interface with internal business teams in support of company objectives.

What we’re looking for :

  • Bachelor’s degree in government or political science, with 5+ years government relations experience.
  • Ability to travel nationwide as necessary (20-30%)
  • Proven understanding and working knowledge of state legislative and regulatory process.
  • Demonstrated experience with state legislative advocacy work, including management of consultants.
  • Preferred prior experience with managing and negotiating public sector agreements.
  • Experienced in answering questions, creating / negotiating win-win situations.
  • Persistent in working toward and achieving goals as well as comfort with performance-based metrics.
  • proven ability to think and act strategically in pursuing company objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations, strategy documents and correspondence in clear, concise and persuasive manor.
