Hourly Rate : $22.96 an hour

Job Summary :
The Operator Mechanic is responsible for a variety of duties including ensuring assigned equipment is ready for startup / changeovers.
Visually inspect equipment to ensure operation according to standards making adjustments. Complete centerline inspections and may assist mechanics with minor repairs, replacements, and modifications to equipment following all safety regulations and ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met.
Must have own hand tools. You will work onsite in the Council Bluffs location. You will report to the Maintenance Team Leader.
Essential Job Functions :
- Work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for position.
- Regular attendance to ensure production requirements are met.
- Read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English.
- Complete work / purchase requests into the maintenance tracking and performance computer system.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance including drumbeats, MTBF, and cause
- Knowledge of basic hand tools
- As well as with others as a team.
- Good safety record and complete all necessary trainings.
- Complete required BOS Audits.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Job Duties :
- Verify product for startup (e.g., product codes, weights)
- Ensure equipment is ready for startup / changeovers performing pre-start checks.
- Visually inspect equipment to ensure it is operating according to standards making adjustments.
- Complete centerline inspections to identify defects.
- Grease seals and bearings, clean, inspect, and replace belts.
- Assist mechanics with minor repairs, replacements, and modifications to equipment.
- Assist mechanics with Planned Maintenance (PM).
- Teardown equipment for changeover / sanitation
- Complete daily paperwork (e.g., centerline reports, scale audits, PM / AM sheets)
- Keep work area free from debris to maintain a safe and efficient production process.
- Participate in production line drumbeats.
- General housekeeping (e.g., sweeping, wiping down guards, removal of contaminants, etc.)
Skills Required :
- Knowledge of GMP’s
- Be LOTO certified.
Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma or GED
Experience Required : Minimum 1 year maintenance or related experience.
