REPORTS TO: Site Director QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Georgia certificate in School Counseling (P-12) or such alternatives as the Governance team may find appropriate and acceptable. Access to a personal computer and reliable internet DUTIES:Create, review, and monitor individual student action plans with the goal to assist students in meeting their graduation and college or career goals. Communicate frequently with students and parents to discuss student progress in meeting such goals.Coordinate and meet monthly with all Southern Rivers' personnel to ensure all staff attend and understand student services activities.Conduct and participate in annual audits to review program implementation. Measure results of Student Services activities and communicate resultsmunicate appropriate data to site directors and central office staff.Lead and direct all requirements for Bridge Act/ House Bill 400.Collaborate with parents/guardians/educators to assist students with educational and career planning.Host student and parent events relating to graduation, colleges visits, financial aid and career pathways. Assist all students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career and personal/social skills, goals, and plans.Provide individual or group counseling to students with identified concerns and needs. Monitor student academic performance, behavior, and attendance and assist with appropriate interventions.Conduct an initial audit of each new student's transcript and record all earned credit. Communicate with the registrar to ensure accurate entry into the school information system (Infinite Campus).Schedule the ASVAB test and conduct an interpretation of results with students.Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills.Use available technology resources to enhance the school-counseling program. Stay up-to-date on all current programs to assist students in their academic, college, and career needs.Counsel students on the importance of going to college by planning programs to promote college attendance as well as preparation for the SAT, ACT, PSAT, ASSEST, or Compass. Administer college entrance exams or arrange for exams to be given when appropriate. Coordinate all required state testing with the Test Coordinator to plan testing review, testing sessions, and notification of results to students and staff.Mentor students.Conduct a Georgia Apply to College night.Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Director.Primary Location: Marion County Salary Range: $40.00- $40.00 per/hourShift Type: Part-Time
