Under minimal supervision and direction, performs a variety of maintenance
and custodial duties including painting, light bulb and fixture changing or
repairing, minor plumbing to include toilet repair, assisting with furniture
moving, general maintenance jobs as and when required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Minor HVAC, plumbing & electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
- Tile work
- Graffiti removal
- Painting
- Maintaining custodial equipment in proper working order.
- Keep all equipment, mechanical, electrical riser rooms clean.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide custodial services support to cleaning staff whenever required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
To be successful in this position, the incumbent must possess the following
knowledge, skills and abilities :
Education and Experience :
Graduation from high school required. Minimum of two or more years of
related experience performing handyman or maintenance related duties
(painting, minor plumbing, minor electrical, equipment maintenance, etc.).
Abilities :
1. Understand and speak English to communicate and interact effectively
with supervisor, co-workers and customers.
2. Understand and speak Spanish is desired.
3. The ability to read, understand and communicate safety rules, regulations,
procedures, inspection lists, charts, chemical compounds and work
directions.
4. The ability to work safely in accordance with company and job site safety
procedures.
5. The ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings to meet
the demands of the position.
Other Requirements
1. Safe driving record and proof of current auto insurance required.
2. The incumbent / employee must pass a pre-employment drug / alcohol test
with periodic retesting requirements during the course of his or her
employment with Diamond Contract Services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

coordination and quick reactions for demands of traffic conditions while driving.
