Education / Experience

Minimum Required :

Associate degree in clinical laboratory technology, Histotechnology, or equivalent program that would be eligible for licensure in NYS within a hospital laboratory setting.

Preferred :

One (1) year of clinical laboratory experience.

License / Certification

Minimum Required :

NYS Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician.

Or within the Histology Department only : Registered as a Certified Histotechnician or Histotechnologist within NYS.

Work Environment

Most work is performed in heated and air conditioned surroundings. Ability to lift 25 pounds, walking reaching, standing and sitting. When performing laboratory testing, eyewear, gloves, masks / face shields must be worn according to NYS Dept. of Health, and UHSH Infection Control, and CDC Blood and Body Fluids Policies and Procedures.
