Job Title: General Production WorkerJob Description

The General Production Worker supports metal plating and coating operations by preparing, processing, and inspecting parts according to established procedures. This role involves loading and unloading parts into chemical baths, operating industrial cleaning equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and upholding strict safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts into chemical baths in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
• Perform stripping, cleaning, rinsing, and preparation of parts to ensure they are ready for production processes.
• Inspect parts for quality, identify nonconforming materials, and report issues promptly.
• Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately and on time.
• Operate burn-off and pressure-washing equipment safely and efficiently as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety policies, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and chemical handling procedures.
• Meet daily production schedules and productivity goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Communicate production or quality concerns clearly to supervisors or leads.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and participate in waste reduction initiatives.
• Handle materials and perform general production and general labor tasks as required.
• Multitask effectively to manage multiple steps in the production and cleaning process.

Essential Skills

• Experience in general production, material handling, or general labor in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work comfortably in a repetitive and tedious role while maintaining focus and accuracy.
• Strong attention to safety and willingness to follow all safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Ability to lift between 3050 pounds repetitively throughout the shift.
• Ability to read and follow basic work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Capability to multitask and manage multiple production steps simultaneously.
• Reliability and consistency in meeting production schedules and productivity expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a pre-treatment operator or working with plating, coating, or chemical processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with operating burn-off and pressure-washing equipment is beneficial.
• Comfort working in an industrial environment with varying temperatures.
• Interest in contributing to continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.

Work Environment

The role is based in a metal plating facility with approximately 100 employees across three plants, primarily focused on plating and coating metal parts for various customers. This is an industrial environment that involves working around chemical baths, metal components, and industrial cleaning equipment. Temperatures can be warm in the summer and may be cold in some departments during the winter. The work is physically active, involves repetitive lifting of 3050 pounds, and requires adherence to safety procedures and PPE guidelines at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.65/hr.
