We have a casual PT LADC position.

Judy Retterath Withdrawal Management Center (formerly Mission Care Detox Center), opened in 1978 as Minnesota’s first licensed detoxification program.

Forty years later, our facility continues to be a leader and innovator in Minnesota’s early recovery community, operating as one of the state’s first withdrawal management programs. Position Responsibilities:

  • To provide individual assessment analysis and diagnosis; intervention and referral.
  • To develop a therapeutic relationship with the clients so that they will have the benefit of constructive feedback.
  • To provide comprehensive written records on individual clients so that medical records, licensing, and program standards are maintained.
  • Orient clients to the unit rules, client rights, and grievance procedures.
  • Observe behaviors, recognize and report potential medical or psychiatric emergencies.
  • Meet crisis situations and deal with behavioral problems when they arise.
  • Accurate documentation of client progress utilizing the electronic health record system in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Provide Rule 25/Comprehensive Assessments for unit clients.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Attend all staff meetings, in-service trainings, and quarterly emergency procedure reviews.
  • Be sensitive to the diverse backgrounds of residents and act in ways that project fairness and equality.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Program Director.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC); or exempt from licensure under chapter 148F, with one of the following additional requirements: Completion of at least a baccalaureate degree with a major or concentration in social work, nursing, sociology, human services, or psychology, or licensure as a registered nurse; Successful completion of a minimum of 120 hours of classroom instruction in which each of the core functions listed in chapter 148F is covered; Successful completion of 440 hours of supervised experience as an alcohol and drug counselor, either as a student or a staff member; Completion of at least 270 hours of drug counselor training in which each of the core functions listed in chapter 148F is covered, and successful completion of 880 hours of supervised experience as an alcohol and drug counselor, either as a student or as a staff member; Current certification as an alcohol and drug counselor or alcohol and drug counselor reciprocal, through the evaluation process established by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse, Inc.; Completion of a bachelor's degree including 480 hours of alcohol and drug counseling education from an accredited school or educational program and 880 hours of alcohol and drug counseling practicum; or Employment in a program formerly licensed under Minnesota Rules, parts 9530.5000 to 9530.6400, and successful completion of 6,000 hours of supervised work experience in a licensed program as an alcohol and drug counselor prior to January 1, 2005 Competency in areas of: chemical abuse and dependency; chemical use assessments; case management; individual counseling, including crisis intervention.
  • Prior training or experience in assessing needs of adolescents and seniors or completion of program training within thirty days of employment.
  • Ability to perform basic health assessment procedures, CPR, First Aid, and client care functions, or upon employment completion of recovery support staff training.
  • Computer proficiency required; including the ability to use e-mail, navigate the internet, and complete basic data entry in an electronic health record system.
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.

Salary:

  • The salary range is $25-$30/hr based on qualifications and experience.

Benefits :

  • This position is not benefits eligible Shifts Available: Seeking someone open to support Weekends if needed.
