Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install sheet metal components, including ductwork, roofing, siding, and other metal products, according to blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
- Installation of HVAC units, electronic, and mechanical components.
- Cut and shape sheet metal using various cutting equipment to meet project dimensions.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC units, including electronic and mechanical components.
- Lay out and position sheet metal components based on project drawings and specifications, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to design requirements
- Reads blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Secure sheet metal components in place using appropriate fasteners, adhesives, welding, or soldering techniques. Ensure that all fastenings are done securely to withstand environmental conditions.
- Operates a variety of equipment, such as hand tools and diagnostic hardware.
- Operates various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments.
- Install or gas lines.
- Conserve, install, and recycle CFC and HCFC (Chlorofluorocarbon family) refrigerants if certified.
- Comply with the standards for HVAC systems as dictated by the State where the work is being done.
- Brazing, soldering, pipefitting, welding, and fabrication may be performed if certified.
- Install Condensate pipping
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- An active driver’s license within the state where work is conducted.
- 4+ years of HVAC installation experience
- Ability to read blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Ability to check work email (smartphone, computer, tablet, etc) - the company provides a $10 stipend for data.
- Basic Proficiency in English required. Candidates must have a basic understanding of English for safety purposes and to communicate with colleagues, vendors, and contractors on-site effectively. The ability to follow instructions and engage with the team is essential for success in this role.
