Job Summary:

As a Ground Service Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and servicing of all Ground Service Equipment (GSE) at a designated location. Your role is crucial in ensuring that Swissport Ramp and other service agencies are equipped with safe and reliable equipment that complies with local and governing regulations.

Compensation:

The expected pay rate is $22.50 - $26.00/hr. Full-time employees receive a comprehensive health and wellness benefits package, including a 401(k) with company match, paid vacation time, sick leave, and company paid holidays.

Your Responsibilities:

• Operate and drive various types of GSE - both motorized and non-motorized.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all ground support equipment according to established schedules.
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic assessments of GSE as required.
• Develop a basic understanding of hydraulic systems and be willing to learn more.
• Complete required airport deicing training. Be prepared to work during snow, ice, and adverse weather conditions, including potential overtime during emergencies.
• Work outdoors year-round, in all weather conditions.
• Remove faulty GSE from service and ensure that it is not returned until repairs are completed.
• Respond to service calls and accidents involving ground support equipment.
• Maintain all maintenance and repair documentation as per regulatory requirements.
• Comply with all applicable security requirements set forth by federal, provincial, municipal, and airport authorities.
• Retain a valid driver’s license for both airside and non-airside operations in good standing.
• Follow safety guidelines established by WCB, EPA, WHIMIS, and SP management.
• Keep the GSE shop and its equipment clean, serviceable, and report any deficiencies to management.
• Fuel equipment in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with ramp management, customers, and staff professionally.
• Demonstrate initiative and report to shop leads daily.

Your Profile:

• Valid driver's license.
• Flexible availability.
• Trade school training or a mechanical background preferred.
• Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
• Good computer proficiency.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workshop.
• Willingness to travel for training or to support other SP stations as needed.
