Sentara Health is hiring for a Liability Claims Manager!
Status : Full-Time,permanent position (40 hours)
Standard working hours : 8 am to 5 pm EST, M-F
Location :Job responsibilities :
The Liability Claims Manager's primary responsibility is the administration of Sentara Healthcare's Automobile, Professional and General Liability (AL / PL / GL) program. This includes consulting about Incidents, setting up Events / Claims / Lawsuits in the Claims Management System, assigning and adjusting case Indemnity and Expense Reserves, negotiating settlements, assigning defense counsel, managing litigation, maintaining claim files, communicating with insurance carriers and brokers, and ensuring that State and Federal reporting requirements are met. The Claims Manager is also responsible for analyzing and presenting program information for, or at the direction of, Sentara's Director of Risk Management. In addition to the PL / GL program, the Claims Manager will supervise or support the claims handling of other assigned lines of insurance maintained by Sentara Healthcare. The objective of the Claims Manager position is to control losses incurred by Sentara Healthcare and to provide feedback to Sentara's Risk Managers to assist in the prevention of future losses.
Required qualifications :
5 years handling HEALTH CARE liability claims (not insurance) REQUIRED
BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree REQUIRED
Preferred qualifications :
Masters degree preferred.
