Job description

Join the Associated Materials Innovations Team

Join the Associated Materials Innovations team at Associated Materials, LLC, and be AMazing with us!

At Associated Materials Innovations, we combine our rich history in innovation with an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement of the customer experience. For decades, we have provided vinyl windows, siding, and metal building products that have helped build homes and communities across North America.

As a leading manufacturer of exterior building products and preferred product manufacturer for Alside, you'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas in a welcoming and supportive work environment driven by safety and our core values. Join the AMI team where you can be AMazing as we shape our future together.

Position Summary

The Loader position is the final stage of the production process. This process includes pulling windows from the correct rack that have been staged for shipment and loaded onto the correct trailer. This position must focus on proper loading techniques and securing techniques in order to ensure employee safety and items reach their destination without damage. The Loader confirms that all orders are complete, accurate, and properly documented before leaving the plant.

What to Expect

  • Locate windows in staging area, place on cart and transport to outgoing truck according to shipping destination.
  • Securely position windows in trucks by utilizing fastening and protective devices such as ratchet straps, shipping pillows and cardboard.
  • Use scanner to allow for digital tracking of outgoing and incoming windows (inventory management).
  • May use a motorized or manual pallet jack as well as a tow motor and must have the proper training and certification from our safety department to use this machinery.
  • Follow all company safety procedures regarding proper loading techniques while placing windows and patio doors onto the trailers.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or shipping environment
  • Commitment to safety and strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English sufficient to:
    • Read and understand safety procedures, hazard warnings, and equipment operating instructions.
    • Accurately complete production records, quality checklists, and incident reports in English.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
    • Ability to work flexible hours or weekends as needed based on production demand.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting & Carrying: Frequently lifting items weighing 50 lbs. Must be able to lift to 150 lbs. with assistance.
  • Endurance: Standing and walking on concrete floors for 8--12-hour shifts.
  • Body Mechanics: Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Agility & Coordination: Climbing ladders, navigating narrow aisles, and maneuvering in fast-paced, sometimes crowded environments.
  • Manual Dexterity: Handling, sorting, and scanning small products repetitively.
  • Vision & Hearing: Good, corrected vision is necessary for reading labels and operating equipment, while hearing is required to detect alarms.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and is required to be worn daily.

When you join AMI, you are part of a leading North American manufacturing business of vinyl windows, cladding, metal siding, trim and other essential exterior building products for residential, light commercial and multifamily projects. In 2022, we introduced our composite cladding system, a first-of-its-kind solution featuring exclusive (GP)2technology. Headquartered in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, AMI is part of Associated Materials, LLC, which owns and operates 10 manufacturing facilities in North America including a distribution center.

Associated Materials, LLC, provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, medical condition, genetic information, military and veteran status, marital status, pregnancy, gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by local law, regulation, or ordinance. We also make reasonable accommodations for disabled employees and applicants, as required by law.

The actual wage offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
