Job description

Master Scheduler

The Master Scheduler is responsible for centrally controlling and coordinating the end-to-end order processing and operational scheduling pipeline across Rand's global network. This role aligns customer demand, inventory targets, operational capacity, and delivery commitments to support on-time fulfillment, revenue performance, and gross profit goals. The Master Scheduler serves as the primary hub for synchronizing materials, capacity, and logistics across sites and time zones, while driving process standardization, schedule discipline, and continuous improvement in support of Rand's Operational Excellence (OpEx) VIA strategy. This role partners closely with the QFC Managers, Director of Sales Operations, and VP of Quality & QFC Operations to ensure alignment across operations, sales, and quality.

Essential Functions

  • Own and manage the master schedule across multiple global operational sites, coordinating order release, sequencing, and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor order flow from receipt through shipment to prevent revenue-impacting delays and ensure visibility.
  • Collaborate with Sales, QFC Managers, Sourcing, and Logistics to resolve capacity constraints, material shortages, and schedule conflicts.
  • Analyze demand forecasts, inventory levels, and throughput to optimize schedules and support revenue and margin goals.
  • Create and sustain a Kanban system to support pull-based planning, inventory control, and operational flow across global sites.
  • Generate schedule performance reports for the VP of Quality & QFC Operations, highlighting on-time delivery, bottlenecks, and financial impact.
  • Maintain accurate ERP, and scheduling system data to support reliable order visibility and decision-making.
  • Drive process standardization, data integrity, and continuous improvement in support of Rand's Operational Excellence (OpEx) VIA strategy.
  • Support revenue and gross profit targets through disciplined scheduling, prioritization, and strategic expediting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the master schedule in partnership with the VP of Quality & QFC Operations, QFC Managers, and Director of Sales Operations.
  • Coordinate schedule alignment across four global operational sites to balance capacity and demand.
  • Monitor order status, backlog, and shipment readiness to ensure timely customer delivery.
  • Identify and escalate schedule risks, bottlenecks, and material constraints that may affect delivery or profitability to the VP of Quality & QFC Operations and QFC Managers.
  • Work with Director of Sales Operations and QFC Managers to communicate realistic delivery dates and manage schedule changes.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP and planning data accuracy to support planning decisions and reporting.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly schedule performance reports for leadership review.
  • Partner with QFC Managers, Operations, and Quality to ensure schedules reflect capacity, compliance, and customer requirements.
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to improve schedule stability, on-time performance, and effective level loading across sites.

Core Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of master scheduling, planning, and order orchestration in a multi-site environment
  • Ability to analyze demand, capacity, inventory, and throughput data to make sound scheduling decisions.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills with QFC Managers, Director of Sales Operations, and VP of Quality & QFC Operations.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and time-sensitive customer commitments.
  • Strong problem-solving and escalation management skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong data accuracy discipline.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP systems, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to present schedule performance, risks, and recommendations clearly to leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Goal-oriented, analytical, and highly accountable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Lean 6-Sigma certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in master scheduling, planning, or supply chain coordination.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or global operations is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and scheduling tools required.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills required.
  • Experience working with order processing, inventory planning, and capacity analysis preferred.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
  • May be required to work overtime or weekends based on business needs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and perform frequent computer-based work.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This position may provide direction to planners, schedulers, or support personnel as assigned, but primary responsibility is to coordinate and synchronize planning across the global network in partnership with QFC Managers, Director of Sales Operations, and VP of Quality & QFC Operations.
