Kilpatrick, a large international law firm, is seeking a Billing Specialist for our Financial Services Department in our Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, San Diego or Seattle office. This position is directly responsible for the timely and successful processing of the firm's billing needs, using a highly complex IP billing and electronic e-billing system and method to accomplish the daily tasks. This individual is also responsible for the accurate and consistent billing and other data to be produced while completing job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Submit electronic bills using various e-billing systems (including processing appeals and error message handling)
• Receive and process billing edits, transfers and changes for attorneys in multiple practice groups
• Coordinate, monitor and process approved markdowns, write-offs and necessary maintenance
• Monitor and answer billing department email and telephone hotlines
• Provide 3E assistance to attorneys and Legal Practice Specialists
• Assist attorneys and Legal Practice Specialists in understanding billing processes, policies and procedures
• Assist Accounts Receivable and Collections staff in resolving or preventing billing errors
• Process daily time loads
• Assist with new matter setup, opening discounts and rate exceptions
• Complete special projects and analyses as directed
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS REQUIRED :

This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in office work days as well as remote work days. The pay range for this position in California and Seattle only is $40.97 to $61.00 per hour.
