Position Title : News Anchor

Reports to : News Director

KFOR-TV, Oklahoma’s News 4, is looking for a strong, dynamic, experienced News Anchor to join our award-winning team. For 76 years, Channel 4 has been building a legacy of trust with the community. We provide more hours of news and weather than any other television station in our state and we do it in a way unlike the competition. Our impactful reporting has helped change laws, assisted in the exoneration of the wrongly accused and served as a beacon for those who still believe in serious Journalism. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Presents content for broadcast, digital and CTV in an engaging and professional manner

Compelling storyteller

Writes and presents news stories clearly and concisely

Assists in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating news programming and other content

Responds urgently to breaking news and other time-sensitive newsrooms situations

Participates in promotional activities including public appearances

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Writes content for the website and other digital platforms

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS :

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to communicate (written and oral), across all platforms and to ad lib when required

Superior on-air presence

Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of current events, history, newsmakers and issues

Experience guiding, directing and motivating others

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Flexibility to work varied shifts.
