This role is the engineering interface to our customers and as such must present a superior level of technical understanding and ability to communicate effectively to both engineers and non-engineers. The position is member of our Customer Focus Teams, but also interfaces closely with Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Production and Quality.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers on a variety of technical discussions and support technical inquires/requests.
  • Contribute to quoting process by estimating labor, tooling and any other costs associated with meeting customer requirements.
  • Identify when customer requirements exceed internal capabilities and lead projects to improve processes, infrastructure and equipment to meet customer needs.
  • Drive DFX with data captured from process development, NPI builds and our internal knowledge base so that customers receive feedback in a timely manner and information is communicated effectively in a way that provides them the highest value.
  • Ensure all customer/regulatory requirements are met for product throughout all Vanguard processes.
  • Disposition nonconforming products, lead Root Cause and Corrective Actions.
  • Collect, analyze and drive action from manufacturing data.
  • Create, coordinate, review and approve internal product documentation.
  • Support resolving supply chain and electronics piece part issues.
  • Identify all tooling, fixturing and equipment requirements and lead the design, procurement and validation.
  • Identify, communicate and mitigate risks using FMEA or equivalent tools.
  • Provide hands on support during NPI and Pilot builds to ensure processes are working effectively and issues are resolved in real time.
  • Provide technical training to technicians and operators
  • Utilize Design of Experiments to establish new processes and drive improvements to existing.
  • Support production technicians and operators on issues that arise.
  • Both lead and support process improvement efforts with the team.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Manufacturing or related discipline. Or equivalent experience.
  • Customer service orientated (internal and external) with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing Secret level clearance or ability and willingness to obtain clearance.
  • 3+ years’ experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Highly skilled at navigating and interpreting both Electrical and Mechanical CAD/Drawings.
