Training Specialist
Facilitates/conducts exempt & non-exempt training programs within the Distribution Center. Supports DC Operations with all training initiatives. Trains new and current Ross and Temporary Staffing Agency Associates on engineered standards (procedures/methods). Supports new programs to increase the job knowledge, productivity, and performance of DC Associates.
Shifts:
1st Shift- M-F 5:00AM-1:00PM, M-F 6:00AM-2:00PM
2nd Shift= M-F 2:00PM-10:00PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
List the core duties or tasks that are fundamental to the performance of the job. This section provides detailed information about the job's tasks, duties, responsibilities, tool and equipment uses. Define the purpose, function and the result to be accomplished. Duties and responsibilities should be listed in order of their importance, occurrence, or time requirements.
Conduct curriculum as outlined by Training Manager/Supervisor to include:
+ Train processes and procedures through verbal instruction, demonstration, and trainee's hands-on execution of required job skills.
+ Conduct new hire orientations and refresher training classes.
+ Prepare for training sessions by organizing all necessary supplies and setting up practice training labs, merchandise, and training scenarios.
+ Must be able to facilitate and deliver all classroom training content. Such as: PIT, NHO, Safety Training, etc.
+ Use Engineered Standard operating procedures to evaluate the trainee's ability to perform, retain, and execute covered information through hands on demonstration.
+ Use appropriate assessment tools to provide feedback regarding trainee's progress and relay to Training Manager and DC Operations Management.
+ Assist in the development of training materials to ensure success of all Associates. Including the use of PowerPoint, Excel, translation software, etc.
Conduct engineered standards (procedures/methods) training curriculum as developed by Training Manager and Industrial Process Improvement and Production Engineers to include:
+ Assist in the development of training materials during the roll-out of new DC Processes.
+ Assist Engineers by offering training insight during Managing Performance observations.
+ Become the subject matter expert by developing and maintaining a level of operational expertise in a minimum of one functional area in the Distribution Center.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED :
+ Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
+ Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
+ Well-developed interpersonal skills that include a demonstrated willingness to help others become successful using a patient coaching approach.
+ Proficient in Word and Math (testing required).
+ Must be able to work independently and in a group setting.

+ Ability to motivate trainees and create enthusiasm.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS PREFERRED :
+ Good understanding of DC merchandise flow.
+ Good understanding of RDM.
+ Consistent execution of engineered standards and procedures.
+ One year of consecutive service as a Merchandise Processor in the DC.
+ Previous experience as a trainer or buddy trainer.
+ Bilingual.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ADA :
Job requires ability to work in a warehouse environment, on a concrete floor all day.
Requires continuous standing, walking, hearing, pushing, and pulling.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance are necessary.
Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, talking, writing, hearing (audio equipment), handling objects with hands and lifting to 50 lbs.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Occasionally sit.
Pay Details: $20.00 to $21.00 per week
