Substitute Teachers wanted for Cicero Public School District 99 in Illinois

This unique opportunity allows you to experience various schools and grade levels, providing a taste of diverse teaching environments. Plus, with the flexibility to take the summer off, you will be rejuvenated and prepared to embark on a new academic adventure come Fall. Responsibilities:
  • Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes:
    • Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans.
    • Instructing students on a variety of classroom topics/courses
    • Building positive relationships
    • Assigning reasonable tasks and homework
  • Motivate students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
  • Create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
  • *Long-term substitute assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments. Also, must work 16 consecutive days or more.
  • *Substitute School Secretary, long-term assignments only. Assist the admin office.
Minimum requirements:
  • Daily Substitute Teacher: high school diploma/GED
  • Substitute Classroom Aide/Paraprofessional: high school diploma/GED ($11-$12.50/hour).
