Full-Time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) inStockton, CA
Are you a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter looking to make a significant impact on students' lives? We are seeking a passionate Full-Time SLI to join our team in Stockton, CA, for the upcoming school year!
Position : Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
Location : Stockton, CA
Employment Type : Full-Time, 25-26 School Year
Caseload : Primarily moderate to severe
Responsibilities :
Provide high-quality sign language interpretation for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in various educational settings (classroom instruction, discussions, school events, etc.).
Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers.
Collaborate with educators, special education teams, and families to support student success and ensure access to the curriculum.
Contribute to IEP meetings as a professional consultant regarding student communication needs.
Adapt interpreting style and techniques to meet the individual communication needs of students.
Maintain accurate records and adhere to professional ethics and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications :
EIPA Score of 4.0 or higher required.
Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
Knowledge of Deaf culture and educational interpreting practices.
Experience working in K-12 educational settings is preferred.
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly Desired (Big Plus!) :
Bilingual in Spanish. Approximately 90% of our district is Spanish-speaking, making this a valuable asset for connecting with students and families.
