Hours : Position Summary

This position is accountable for the operation, personnel management, and the service to customers within a specified geographic region.

Essential Functions

• Promote and develop safe work behaviors in line with the company's safety programs and objectives
• Monitor hours of service for drivers; maintain compliance with all company and government regulations and policies
• Supervise performance of drivers to achieve incident free deliveries of every load
• Work with KAG Risk Management, Suppliers, Vendors, and Customers for processing accident and cargo related claims
• Conduct interviews and hire drivers
• Discipline drivers up to, and including, termination
• Work closely with dispatchers on troubleshooting items such as delivery issues, driver training program, staffing levels, customer requests / complaints, etc.
• Approve / Deny driver PTO requests, manage annual vacation schedule, create weekly driver schedule for dispatch
• Assist in the forecasting of terminal performance and analyze terminal financial information
• Engage local customers regularly to drive growth and enhance relationships
• Work with KAG Rating and Billing Departments to submit RFPs, negotiate business terms, and properly on-board new customers / lanes into terminal operation
• Ensure maximum asset utilization
• Oversee and assist shop in managing unit PM schedule, trailer testing schedule, and other functions than relate to KAG Fleet Maintenance
• Manage Terminal Administrative Staff and oversee payroll and billing functions
• Process corporate, customer, and driver requests in a timely manner
• In the Terminal Managers absence, serve as the primary decision maker for the terminal
