Job description

Job details Spherion CT is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable 2nd Shift Shipping Coordinator to lead evening outbound logistics operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role serves as the final checkpoint for quality and accuracy before products are shipped to customers. The ideal candidate will have experience with small-parcel shipping systems, good organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. ...
Responsibilities:
Process all outbound shipments using UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar systems, ensuring correct service levels (Ground, Express, International).
Accurately weigh, measure, and label packages to ensure proper billing and avoid shipping discrepancies.
Coordinate carrier pickups, including scheduling late-day shipments and managing trailer swaps.
Generate and verify shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading (BOL), packing slips, and commercial invoices.
Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts and updating WMS/ERP systems.
Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to prioritize urgent (???hot???) orders and resolve packaging or labeling issues.
Track and report daily shipping metrics including volume, cost, and carrier performance.
Ensure all shipments meet quality standards and are dispatched on time for scheduled pickups.

Working hours: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Skills:
Experience with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar logistics/shipping software
Familiarity with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Good organizational and multitasking abilities under time-sensitive conditions
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with a ?zero-error? mindset

Education:
High School

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
Basic mathematical accuracy for calculating weights, postage, and inventory totals
Technical literacy with digital scales, barcode scanners, and shipping software
Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift/move packages up to 50 lbs
Reliability and punctuality, especially for 2nd-shift operations
Ability to coordinate carrier scheduling and manage shipping documentation (BOL, packing slips, invoices)
