Job Title : Laboratory Assistant

Reports to : Senior Embryologist

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Summary : Performs day- to -day operations in the laboratory. The successful candidate must enjoy a fast-paced setting and must be a detail-oriented and flexible team player.

Required Duties and Responsibilities : Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Scheduling of all Embryology Procedures and Fert Checks (Retrievals, Donor Retrievals, Fresh Transfers, Frozen Transfers, Embryo Thaws, Oocyte Thaws)

Maintain Procedure Schedule

Complete & Maintain Task List

Complete & Maintain Sample Shipments

Complete all Embryo & Oocyte Freezing paperwork

Maintain Media & Plasticware spreadsheets

Obtain and file all Certificates of Analysis for Media & Plasticware

Complete all clerical work associated with Embryo / Oocyte Donation / Disposal once reviewed by Sr. Embryologist

Loading client reports into charts (Summary Letters, Cryo Reports, etc.)

Loading PGT reports into charts and tasking Embryologists to call client

Answer all Embryology Lab phone calls

Assists in stocking Embryology Lab supplies

Qualifications :

Education / Experience :

B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or biological science.

Language Ability :

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability :

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities :

Medical Terminology

Excellent customer service skills.

Strong computer skills
