Your Role on the Team
Position Summary :
Incumbent performs all tasks necessary to register patients, obtain necessary authorizations, verify the patient has a source of funding to cover services, and schedule patients for surgery. Responds to patient inquiries and resolves any identified issues. Additionally, performs non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting as necessary.

Required Qualifications :
- Previous experience with computer registration and registration scheduling system
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum one (1) year recent experience (within past two (2) years) registering patients in a hospital or clinic, working as a Medical Assistant, or working in medical billing
- Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office
- General knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes
- Experience in surgical scheduling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated experience using MS Office
- BLS within 30 days of hire
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Ability to regularly travel locally to Ambulatory Clinic off-site locations
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to interpret and understand various medical insurance plans and make accurate determinations regarding coverage
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
