Due to the nature of this position, Creative Directors require to have a vast understanding of the different branches encompassed in the disciplines of Art and Design. Aspiring candidates seeking a position as a Creative Director, either in-house or with an agency, must have completed a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art, Advertising, Communications or have obtained any other equivalent certification.

They rely significantly on a solid portfolio that stands out from the rest of the competition and highlights their work experience. They’re usually required to have between 5 to 10 years of experience working in a related field such as Advertising, Copy Editing, Graphic Design, or Marketing.
