JOB SUMMARY : The Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements under federal, state, local agencies, as well as Chemco’s Safety Programs. Provides guidance, training and identification of resources, equipment, or controls necessary to reduce / eliminate hazards, incidents, and injuries and to ensure a secure / safe work environment. Provides leadership and an atmosphere that fosters continuous improvement of all regulatory processes and environmental, health and safety programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Maintain Company-wide EHS programs to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local agencies.
- Provide interpretation, direction and guidance to line management and senior staff of processes and issues related to EHS compliance.
- Perform regular audits of SOPs and EH&S policies and revise as necessary to comply with federal, state and local requirements. Develop and initiate communications to ensure revisions are implemented.
- Develop, implement, and monitor company-wide safety programs in a variety of areas such as, but not limited to, confined space, electrical safety, lock-out tag-out, fall protection, hazard communication.
- Maintain and revise training / instructional materials and conduct new and periodic refresher training as required or needed.
- Interpret EH&S standard operating procedures (SOPs) for employees to ensure consistency and compliant application of policies and programs throughout the company.
- Collaborate with external regulatory groups / associations and regulatory agencies.
- Investigate, generate, and disseminate reports of safety and environmental incidents including injuries and illnesses.
- Exercise best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
- Prioritize and coordinate implementation of corrective actions for issues identified in worksite inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Manage companywide EHS training programs, organizing, and facilitating routine, impactful and compliant safety meetings and trainings to ensure employees are educated on all relevant EHS issues and regulations.
- Maintain all training documents including training conducted, dates and attendance records.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on company initiatives and necessary changes.
- Develops and maintains good rapport with local, county, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Tracks workplace injuries, maintains OSHA logs and postings.
- Point person for and leads and sets agenda for the Safety Committee.
- Participate in interdepartmental meetings to discuss workplace safety and to report concerns or opportunities.
- Act as a mentor and role model for all Company policies.
- Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with all departments.

Previous successful work experience in relevant position.A working knowledge of multiple state safety, air, water, and waste regulations is a plus.Ability to learn proprietary software system - strong computer background.Four-year degree in health and safety or a related field.Bi-lingual (Spanish)PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
