Location : Kingsport, TN 37660 (East Tennessee healthcare jobs)

Facility Setting : Operating Room (OR / Surgery)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 16 / 2025 – End : 2 / 15 / 2026)

Shift : Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (06 : 30am – 03 : 00pm), Monday through Friday + On Call

Hours per Week : 40

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1750 - $1790

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Orientation : 16 hours (non-billable)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee RN license required at submission)

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification

Prior travel nursing experience required

Experience with Epic charting system

Community hospital experience preferred

BSN required for international travel nurses

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

Must reside at least 100 miles from facility

Ability to complete compliance documents and drug testing prior to start

Facial hair must be trimmed or removed for fit testing per CDC guidelines

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to surgical patients of all ages (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics)

Assist with a variety of surgical procedures : general, gynecologic, urologic, robotic, and more

Maintain infection control and safety standards in the operating room

Utilize Epic for accurate patient charting and documentation

Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled

Mentor nursing students and contribute to clinical education

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Follow hospital protocols, Universal Protocol (Time Out), and proper specimen handling / labeling procedures

Specialty Surgical Procedures : Abdominal / Vaginal hysterectomy, Appendectomy, Breast augmentation, Cardiac monitoring, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Endoscopic sinus procedures, Hernia repair, Laparoscopic procedures, Mastectomy, Nephrectomy, Pediatric dentistry, Prostatectomy, Robotic surgery, Thyroidectomy, Tonsillectomy, Tracheostomy, Urologic surgery, and more.
