About the Role :
The CMM Programmer / Quality Analyst is responsible for developing, testing, and executing Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs to perform dimensional inspection of manufactured products. This role also manages and analyzes Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to monitor and improve process stability and quality. This position is vital for ensuring product quality and for implementing proactive quality control measures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Create, debug, and maintain CMM inspection programs based on engineering drawings, CAD models and GD&T specifications.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using CMMs and other precision measuring instruments.
- Interpret and analyze measurement data to ensure parts conform to specifications.
- Generate comprehensive inspection reports for internal review and external customer requirements (e.g. PPAP, FAIR).
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain SPC data to monitor process performance.
- Create and update SPC charts (e.g. X-bar, R-charts) to identify process variations.
- Recognize and investigate, along with Quality Engineer, “special cause” variations, and work with the production team to implement corrective actions.
- Use SPC data to proactively identify opportunities for continuous process improvement
- Participate in production team meetings, providing technical support with CMM as needed.
- Support and complete additional projects and tasks assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Follow all AS9100, internal quality policies, OSHA safety regulations, and company safety policies.
Job Requirements :
Must be a U.S. Citizen / Green Card holder. Sponsorship is not provided for this position.Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Trade school certification / education is preferred.2-5 years of inspection experience using a CMM, calipers, depth gage, and height gage.Strong proficiency with CMM software and interpreting complex engineering drawings with GD&T.Excellent understanding of statistical analysis methods for SPC.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail, and effective communication skillsAll employment at IBC is conditional upon results from background and drug testing.
