Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator to play a role in our migration of on-premise database systems to cloud-based solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity to shape our cloud infrastructure strategy and ensure a seamless, secure, and efficient transition of our critical data assets.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and other emerging database platforms, as well as hands-on experience planning and executing successful cloud database migrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive cloud migration strategies, taking into account performance, security, and cost optimization.
• Perform thorough assessments of existing on-premise database environments to determine migration suitability and complexity.
• Execute database migrations to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, utilizing appropriate migration tools and techniques.
• Develop and implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies within the cloud environment.
• Optimize database performance and scalability in the cloud, leveraging cloud-native tools and services.
• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure a smooth transition and minimize disruption to business operations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of database architecture, configuration, and migration processes.
• Stay current on emerging database technologies and cloud best practices.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, with primary expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrable experience in successfully migrating on-premise databases to cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and experience with cloud providers like Azure or AWS
• Proficiency in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with data replication, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
