Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with 2+ years of experience in advanced breast imaging for a large breast center.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a large breast imaging center with an average of 10 technologists on site each day
  • Perform both screening and diagnostic mammograms with an average of 38 screenings and 18 diagnostics per day
  • Utilize GE Senographe Pristina mammography equipment
  • Documentation is completed in Cerner and Penrad systems
  • Shifts are Monday through Friday from 7 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, with potential Saturday shifts as needed
  • Floating to other breast centers within the system may be required
  • Perform stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast enhanced mammography
  • Must be able to educate and support patients with prior breast surgeries or cancer treatments
  • Uniform consists of pink top and black pants
  • Working environment includes a supportive, high-volume team with modern mammography technology
  • Up-to-date documentation and credentials required prior to starting assignments

    • Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mammography, including screening and advanced imaging views such as magnification and spot compression
  • Current ARRT (R) and (M) Mammography certification required
  • Compliance with MQSA standards : 40 hours initial mammography training, current continuing education, recent case numbers (200 / 2 years), 8 hours digital mammo training, 8 hours digital tomosynthesis training
  • BLS certification required
  • IV certification and competency in invasive and sterile procedures required
  • Experience handling complex cases and demonstrating them to radiologists
  • Recent experience in a women's imaging center, sensitive to patients with a history of cancer or treatment
  • License required if applicable
