National Account Manager (BCO)

At DCLI, we're looking for people who want to grow their markets and drive the company to unforeseen heights. You'll be responsible for sales activities and being the face of Dcli within the BCO community. Successful candidates will demonstrate an entrepreneurial and positive attitude combined with the appropriate interpersonal skills. They will be a motivated self-starter, with a strong desire to achieve personal and professional growth. This candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of transportation, logistics, and sales processes. The role reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Marine Sales.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • We want you to be visible in your market listening to customer's needs, offering solutions and most of all driving opportunities for success.
  • Customer base will include assigned BCO's (Beneficial Cargo Owners) that are major shippers within the International Logistics landscape.
  • Create new sales leads, negotiating contracts, manage and develop relationships with assigned accounts to meet revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Collaborate with other internal stakeholders, including Finance, Operations, Legal and Billing to address customer concerns and provide customized sales proposals.
  • Proactively build and maintain a strong working knowledge of DCLI offerings and the Intermodal Transportation Industry.
  • Develop Sales Strategies to penetrate new markets where the organization doesn't have a presence.
  • Identify opportunities to drive productivity, operational synergies, and technological improvements that can benefit both our customers and the company.
  • Generate a deep understanding of the customers business, enabling the employee to be the "voice of the customer" and identify new ways in which DCLI can drive value.
  • Provide well-informed advice and information that is valuable to our customers and the broader community.
  • Share up to date market intelligence to the Commercial organization as well as other internal stakeholders.
  • Work within Salesforce to create account profiles, track opportunities, and ensure all customer related content remains current.
  • Attend various industry events, interacting with the entire customer base to promote the company vision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline
  • Minimum seven to ten years of experience primarily within transportation / intermodal / supply chain industry
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Results oriented professional with effective writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Analytical thinker with a passion for problem resolution, process improvement, and excellent customer service
  • Ability to make clear and actionable business recommendations
  • Flexibility with the ability to quickly adapt to change
  • Ability to independently acquire and analyze information
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Tableau, SalesForce)
  • Must be able to travel at minimum 40% of the month at times when necessary
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
