Job descriptionEnsure high availability and acceptable performance of mission-critical host computer resources; provide recommendations to improve or change the WMS environment. Oversee day-to-day server operations hosting Pathguide WMS, monitor performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair; maintain records of downtime and equipment inventory. Collaborate with 3rd party hosting vendor on firmware / software revisions and support activities. Develop and execute new system and application implementation plans, create custom scripts, and develop testing procedures; train technical staff on new software / hardware. Troubleshoot as required; lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel. Provide server support for related software and work with security team to maintain security and restrict unauthorized use. Coordinate backups and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications with 3rd party vendors. Stay current with technology developments and advise the team on adopting new technologies. Work with 3rd party managed services to meet SLAs and ensure contracted activities are performed accurately; coordinate offshore technical activities. Support the VP, IT with other tasks as needed. 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience on a year-for-year basis). 4+ years' experience with SQL databases. 4+ years' experience in High Availability environments. 4+ years' experience in complex systems design, programming, and systems software / support is a plus. Familiarity with distribution processes (receiving, shipping, cycle counting, inventory adjustments). Experience with Agile / Scrum development is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with project leads and developers. Excellent documentation and organizational skills. Knowledge of : backup / recovery procedures; system performance monitoring tools; ERP / WMS integration (Boomi). Ability to plan, organize, and document complex system design activities; configure systems to align with policies / procedures. Ability to multitask, respond to emergencies, and communicate technical information clearly. Establish and maintain cooperation, trust, and credibility. Desirable : ERP experience (QAD preferred); distribution or manufacturing industry experience. Summary
We are seeking a Business Transformation Project Manager for our Warehouse Management System (WMS Pathguide) who can identify, analyze, and solve technical issues quickly, communicate effectively, and collaborate with team members. The ideal candidate will have expertise with Warehouse Management Systems in a distribution environment and the ability to work with end users to identify potential system improvements, convert them into action items, and communicate them to the 3rd party development team. The role includes installing patches in the Dev environment and following the SDLC process (testing at each step) until changes are operational in production. The position also covers new user setup, training, access control (SOX compliance), and decommissioning users. A good working knowledge of SQL databases and queries, and knowledge of Azure Cloud Servers are required.
