Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks’ Aquatics Division is seeking dependable and qualified individuals to fill these non-civil service, seasonal / temporary Lifeguard I positions for our upcoming 2024 Pool Season to begin in May of 2024 and end in August of 2024.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The selected candidates will oversee the activities of swimmers at one of Baltimore City’s public pools to prevent accidents.
Some of the duties include but are not limited to : provide aide, rescue swimmers in danger of drowning, administers CPR and / or first aid, inspects and maintains cleanliness of swimming pool facilities and surrounding area, and performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS Minimum Age 15 (A work permit issued by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is required for those under the age of 18.)
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS Lifeguarding, First Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) for Professional Rescuers issued by the American Red Cross or an equivalent certification.
NOTE : THIS IS A POSITION OF TRUST. Those eligible that are under final consideration for appointment will be required to authorize the release of Federal & State criminal conviction information, a Child Protective Services Check and submit to drug and alcohol testing.
