About the Department of Child Services (DCS) : Join a group of passionate, dedicated public servants to support one of Indiana's most critical missions! The Department of Child Services helps children who are victims of abuse or neglect and strengthens families through services that focus on family support and preservation. We pursue permanency for children and families through reunification, guardianship, and adoption. Our services also encompass foster care, child support, and transitional support for those adjusting to adulthood.
Role Overview
Each state is required to have a Parent Locate unit to locate absent parents so paternity and child support orders can be established and enforced. This involves working with the local child support offices and other state and federal agencies. The unit assists with working reports so undistributed child support collections are timely distributed. Also, the unit assists with working on other reports to enhance the data of the system so collection processes are able to work appropriately for the collection of unpaid support. The Program Coordinator contributes to the agency goal of increasing collections on delinquent child support cases via the BMV lien process. This position is to provide courteous and timely customer service to non-custodial parents (NCPs) and companies such as the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, insurance agencies, vehicle dealerships, and county child support offices. CSB receives and stores titles in which liens have been placed in the effort to receive payment on cases in delinquent status. This position is in the central DCS offices in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.
