Job Description

The Program Coordinator for Primary Care and Community-Centered Medical Education is responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical student educational programs focused on primary care and the related content areas of community health and health equity in the Program in Medical Education (PME). This individual will coordinate interdisciplinary initiatives, support faculty and students, and ensure alignment with institutional goals to promote socially accountable, community-engaged medical education.

  • Support the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Office for Community-Centered Medical Education and primary care-related educational programs.
  • Develop timelines, track milestones, and resources across multiple programs.
  • Serve as the primary administrative liaison for primary care and community-centered faculty leads, clinical partners, community organizations, and students involved in the portfolio.
  • Coordinate logistics for program activities including community-based clinical placements, workshops, and service-learning experiences, and curricular coursework.
  • Support the integration of community engagement and health equity content across the curriculum.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

  • 4 or more years of related experience preferably in an academic, health care, or other complex environment. Higher education may count toward years of experience.
  • Additional Qualifications and Skills :

  • The Program Coordinator must have a positive nature and be flexible, enthusiastic, thorough, and energized by change.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and embody a "can-do," upbeat attitude.
  • A passion for and record of planning and executing high quality processes, events, and deliverables are essential.
  • The Program Coordinator must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Proven project and / or program management skills required.
  • Experience working with community-based organizations and / or primary care systems is highly desirable.
  • College degree preferred, experience in an academic setting or health care a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational, and planning skills; proficiency in office technologies and web-based applications as well as experience with or interest in teaching and learning technologies; ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff; meticulous attention to detail; ability to work independently and as a dedicated team player in a fast-paced environment; discretion with confidential information; sound judgment and follow through.
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize assigned work against multiple deadlines and have the capacity to respond and adapt to last-minute changes.
  • Must be a quick learner, self-starter and possess a strong commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Additional Information

  • Term : This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.
  • Standard Hours / Schedule : 35 hrs. per week | Monday - Friday | 9 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm

  • Work Format Details :

    This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.

    Salary Grade and Ranges :
