Job description

Job Title : Newsletter Designer / Writer / Editor

Purpose : Write, edit and design our monthly online newsletter, about 250-300 words plus pictures.

Location : Remote with occasional Zoom meetings, occasional attendance at our workshops

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, write and layout content
  • Research preparedness topics for seniors
  • Interview workshop participants for content
  • Choose photos

Time Commitment and Frequency

6 to 8 hours per month at first, then 2-3 hours per month

Qualifications :

  • Clear writing skills
  • Basic design skills (in Word or Google Docs and Bloomerang, our email blast system)
  • A passion for emergency preparedness tips, especially for seniors

    • Reports to : Director of Programs

    Support Provided :

  • Access to our workshops to interview participants
  • Access to our photo database
  • Important information
  • Volunteer time shifts are broken down into the following time frames :

    • Monday Morning

    Monday Afternoon
