LHH is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our client's Private Wealth team in either the Charlotte or Winston-Salem office . This is a strategic hire to support current workload demands and ensure long-term continuity as two senior paralegals approach retirement within the next 5–7 years. The role is fully onsite due to the high level of client interaction and collaboration required.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare estate planning documents, deeds, asset transfer forms, and trust administration paperwork
- Prepare and file federal and state tax documents, including :
- Fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041)
- Gift tax returns (Form 709)
- Occasional individual income tax returns (Form 1040)
- Communicate with clients, financial advisors, CPAs, probate court clerks, and other professionals
- Organize and analyze asset information and client files
- Prepare estate and trust accountings
- Read and interpret wills and trust agreements
- Utilize CCH Tax Analyst for filings and research
- Notarize documents and assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in estate planning and administrationMinimum 10 years of paralegal experience in trusts & estates, preferably in a large law firm or boutique estate planning practiceParalegal certification highly preferredStrong knowledge of estate planning, probate processes, and applicable rulesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research toolsFamiliarity with NetDocuments and CCH platforms is a plusExperience with Forms 706, 709, 1041, and 1040 is highly desirableExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesProfessional, client-focused demeanor with a compassionate approachJ-18808-Ljbffr
