The Accounts Payable III role is responsible for completing payments, controlling expenses, and maintaining accurate accounting records for the organization. This position processes, verifies, and reconciles invoices; prepares vendor and employee payments; and maintains communication with team members regarding accounts payable matters. The role also supports internal control compliance and applies technology to enhance accounting efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Enter invoices with appropriate coding and review expense reports for missing receipts or codingProcess vendor payments, verify federal ID numbers, schedule and prepare checks, and resolve payment discrepanciesProcess employee payments by verifying expense reports, advances, and preparing ACH transactionsMaintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions in CostpointReconcile vendor accounts and monthly statementsMaintain historical records through scanning and organizing documentationProtect organizational value by maintaining confidentialityParticipate in professional development to maintain current job knowledgeComplete related accounting tasks as needed to support organizational goalsProcess annual 1099 formsMaintain open communication with team members regarding accounts payable itemsProcess remittance information from checks, drafts, and wire transfersApply technology to accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiencyParticipate in the evaluation of internal controls for compliancePrepare payables and complete all required standard operating proceduresQualifications & Experience
Required :
4-5 years of accounts payable experienceHigh school diploma; associate degree preferredReliability and trustworthinessProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareAbility to learn accounting systemsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to maintain confidential and accurate recordsWork Environment & Physical Requirements
Professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipmentAbility to remain in a stationary position 75% of the timeOccasional movement within the office to access files and equipmentFrequent operation of computers, calculators, and other office machineryFrequent verbal communication requiring clarity and precisionAbility to lift and move up to 25 lbs.Ability to work indoors 90% of the timeRegular standing, walking, handling materials, and reaching with hands and armsSchedule
