The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is recruiting general and geriatric psychiatrists for a faculty position in our growing department.

Candidates must be board certified or board eligible academic general psychiatrists to fill these full time Assistant Professor positions on the non tenure track.

The faculty will be responsible for individual clinical duties and supervision of psychiatry residents and medical students at a variety of clinical sites.

These sites include the psychiatric services in the outpatient UT Health faculty practice plan and participation in clinical research trials.

Applicants must hold a valid Texas medical license. In addition, candidates must be eligible for clinical privileges with the University Health System under the appropriate staff category and must agree to abide by those privileges as outlined by the current bylaws of the institution.

ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.

Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options :

Front-loaded Paid Time Off : to hours ( to days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year.

PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.

Extended Illness Bank : hours ( day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.

Paid Family Leave : Up to hours ( weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after months of consecutive employment.
