Job Summary
The Management Analyst - CMO performs a wide range of analytical work to assist City Manager's Office Executive Leadership Team (City Manager, Chief of Staff, Deputy City Manager(s), Assistant City Manager(s) and Chief Financial Officer) in resolving policy, budget, administrative, and management issues. Gathers, compiles, and analyzes data for various departments and ensures accuracy of information and efficiency in process.
Essential Functions
- Advises assigned executive during daily executive on memorandums, Council agenda items, Council committee meeting presentations and Council briefings relative to departments under their executive oversight.
- Researches, organizes, compiles, summarizes, and analyzes data, statistics, and information for special projects, programs, and planning; develops recommendations, documents findings, and presents sound evidence based on analysis; prepares and presents extensive reports to management and other agencies.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and reports on operations, workflow, and overall work quality; provides statistical analysis of departmental practices and methods; researches technical transactions and operations to resolve questions and validate data; collaborates with multiple departments to provide analysis and recommendation on process improvement projects and initiatives.
- Serves as a resource for administrative, operational, and technical staff across multiple departments; provides direction, guidance, and help regarding analysis issues and other asset management concerns; provides supervision to limited staff when needed.
- Analyzes, researches, and evaluates current trends and issues impacting the City and its work; resolves departmental concerns and problems; performs an extensive range of technical, analytical, and general administrative duties.
- Coordinates information and ensures effective and efficient communications between departments.
- Works in collaboration with departmental leadership to perform research, develop talking points, speeches, and presentation on critical issues
- Participates in the creation of agenda items for departments assigned to a City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Chief of Staff, Assistant City Manager or Chief Financial Officer.
- Ensures City Council agenda and briefing binders, committee binders and budget binders are prepared for assigned executive.
- Operates the City Legistar system to post City Council committee meetings, agendas and briefings in collaboration with committee chair, City Attorney's Office and City Secretary's Office.
- Briefs assigned executive on all community and media issues related to departments under their executive oversight.
- Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills

Four (4) years of experience preferably in administrative, operational, policy, compliance, or analytical work in a large organizational setting. Experience in the public sector or municipal government is preferred.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Accounting, Business Management, Business, Computer Systems, or other related field or a combination of education and experience.
Masters in Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Equivalencies
Master's Degree plus two years of experience will meet the experience and education requirements.
Salary Range
$62,381.02 - $76,594.30 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
