Physical Therapist II (Full Time, Sunday-Thursday, Virginia Baptist Hospital)

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Level II (Advanced) position is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients in the Acute Care and Acute Rehab settings. The Physical Therapist provides services within VA Licensure, TJC and CMS guidelines for patient care and billing for services.

Responsibilities

• Collaboration with Physical therapy team, Occupational Therapists, SLPs, Providers, Nursing and Case managers to promote interdisciplinary plans of care for Centra hospital patients.
• Completion of evaluations per Provider order and develops PT plan of care.
• Completion of supervisory visits for LPTAs following Va licensure guidelines.
• Completes documentation that is within Va Licensure, TJC and CMS guidelines.
• Preceptorship of new employees.
• Clinical instructor to PT and LPTA students and serves as a mentor to department clinical instructors.
• Acts as a department competency trainer for required yearly competencies.
• Participates in a professionally oriented or Centra related community service activity.
• Participation in departmental process improvement activities.
• Acts as a role model for Centra's values and assists in coaching these behaviors with their team when needed.
• Completion of yearly mandatory education for employment and VA licensure.
• Presents 1 in service or competency to the rehab teams annually.
• Leads interdepartmental committee meetings / projects.
• Participates in Centra interdepartmental committees.
• Provides interdepartmental education to improve patient outcomes.
• Serves as a clinical / professional mentor to rehab team members.
• Clinically oversees the work of a rehab aide / assistant when they are assisting PT with patient care.

Other Functions :

Qualifications

Required Education : Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program

Required Experience : At least 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist I if advancing from Physical Therapist I to Physical Therapist II. 2 or more years of experience if being hired into Physical Therapist II.

Required Licensure / Certifications : Current VA PT license. Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred Experience : Has an identified Specialty Area.
