Title : Senior Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist
Location : Las Vegas, NV
Schedule : Onsite | Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM
Pay : $33-$41 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Employment Type : Full-time, Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)
Reports To : Controller

What You'll Be Doing :
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Review weekly timesheets for accuracy, approvals, and proper project coding.
- Manage benefits deductions, 401(k) contributions, and wage garnishments.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
- Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records for new hires, terminations, and pay changes.
- Support benefit administration and coordinate updates with HR.
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, reimbursements, and credit card transactions.
- Prepare and execute weekly payments via checks and ACH; reconcile vendor statements.
- Record daily cash receipts in Deltek Vantagepoint or similar accounting software.
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations in compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Provide documentation for audits and assist external auditors as needed.
- Collaborate with accounting and HR teams to improve processes and ensure compliance.
What We're Looking For :
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll, accounts payable, or accounting.Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close procedures.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Experience with Paychex or Paylocity preferred; Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint familiarity a plus.Experience in the AEC (architecture, engineering, or construction) industry preferred.Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.Professionalism, discretion, and strong communication skills.
